Why is the graveyard the richest place on earth? Why is it that so many people pass away without having realized their dreams, without having found their purpose, without having experienced happiness, love, success, etc. Why is it that so many men and women depart without having the opportunity to leave a strong and positive legacy? These are difficult questions to answer. However, the truth of the matter is that too many of our brothers and sisters are trapped in the rat race and lose sight of what is truly important. Today one of my friends lost her mother. She was getting ready to get on a plane to see her mother when the sad news came that she passed away around midnight. I was deeply touched as you can imagine and I felt inspired to write this article as a reminder that none of us know when the clock will stop ticking for us. And yet, it saddens me to see so many take life for granted. I truly hope that this inspirational article will inspire you to chase your dreams, deepen your connection to God and be of service to others. Food for thought : Why is the graveyard the richest place on earth?
My friend was about to get on the plane when she heard the sad news. She is devastated as you can imagine and I truly feel for her as her mother had been battling with cancer for months… I am not writing this article to make you feel sad. This is not the objective. I want this article to serve as a reminder that life is not to be taken for granted and that every single day on earth is an opportunity to improve our lives and that of others. Each single sunrise marks a new day with new possibilities to unleash our true potential, connect with God, be of service to others and live a fulfilling and meaningful life. I would also like you to think about this : Why is the graveyard the richest place on earth?
Let’s not be trapped in the rat race. To be honest with you, the term rat race creeps me out. To me, it represents everything that does not work in our societies. And yet, so many get trapped in it, oblivious to the true meaning of life. Let me ask you the following: are we born to die with the greatness we were endowed with from birth or are we born to die empty and satisfied that we used every single bit of talent, love, skills, competences for the betterment of people around us?
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me’. – Erma Bombeck
This is one of my favourite quotes. It inspires me not to take any single day for granted and most of all, it serves as a reminder to why am I on earth. Ponder on this : Why is the graveyard the richest place on earth?
Graveyards to me are filled with a billion of unfulfilled dreams, they are the booksellers of books which are never to be written or read, they are the home of every ‘I should have’, ‘I could have’, ‘I wish I had’. Finally, graveyards are the guardians of regrets. Would you rather die with regrets or would you rather die satisfied that you did everything in your power to unleash your true potential, develop your connection to God and impact many lives?
My friend’s mother passed way so young and with many regrets. Imagine suffering physically and spiritually. Kindly keep her in your thoughts and do me a favour, ask yourself the following questions :
Would I rather die with regrets or would I rather die satisfied that I did everything in my power to unleash my true potential, develop my connection to God and impact many lives? Why is the graveyard the richest place on earth?
Your current situation and circumstances do not define who you really are and certainly do not determine your future. Your mindset and your actions do. You can live a purposeful life. You can experience love, wealth, health and anything you might want. Yes, you can.
